The Older Women's League (OWL) invites you to join or to renew your membership in the only local organization devoted to addressing issues that affect older women. We are a diverse and energetic group of individuals working, planning, and purposefully dreaming of ways to improve the quality of life for women as we age.

Membership dues for 2009 are $40.00, tax deductible, which includes $15.00 to the local chapter, and $25.00 to the OWL National Organization.

Membership also includes three publications:

• A WORD TO THE WISE, our local newsletter.
  
• THE OWL OBSERVER, the national newsletter.
  
• THE FIELD ADVOCATE, an update on legislative issues that affect women.
  

There are many benefits to belonging to OWL including:

• Providing interesting and informative meetings quarterly.
  
  
• Advocating to advance favorable public policy for seniors. A triumph in last year's 77th Texas Legislature was lobbying to maintain a stand-alone Texas Department on Aging.
  
  
• Our annual Purple Tea in May, which pays tribute to mothers, or the indomitable spirit of women who overcome adversity, or acts in celebration of the many achievements of womankind.
